A hunger artist

1. The Hunger Artist's motivation was the fact that he likes to fast and it was an art to him. Fasting came easy to him. He also wanted people to appreciate and admire his weird form of "art". Towards the end of the story he said "I always wanted you to admire my fasting."
2. People grow indifferent because trends only last for a certain amount of time. and when that trend is over people move on to the next thing
3. The Hunger Artist was replaced by a panther, symbolizing the energy and happiness that the hunger artist didn't have.
4. I think Kafka is telling us that life's trends only last for a short period, and one day you could wake up and your not the center of attention anymore
5. I liked A Hunger Artist. I think his commitment and admiration for his own art makes his art similar to other's.
